that being said...
let's talk about the expansion.
there are a lot of great things about wrath of the lich king. the environment and audio really mesh well together to make everything feel epic, and i love everything about the setting of northrend. a lot was done to make the game interesting and quests fun - a lot of it was using the new vehicle mechanics - and on the whole, as an expansion, i think blizzard was very successful.

some things in lich king are a little disappointing though. the malygos fight, for instance. for those reading (mostly myself) who are not very warcraft-lore savvy: malygos was one of the five great aspects (who, through dragonblight quests you can learn, were berthed from one huge dragon named Galakrond) that each watch over a certain part of existence. we have Neltharion the Earth-Warder, Alexstrasza the Life-Binder, Ysera the Dreamer, Nozdormu the Timeless One, and Malygos the Spell-Weaver. being the nerd that i am, i feel that such a figure head in warcraft lore should have warranted a much more challenging raid encounter. this is a small part of the shift that has taken place over the last two expansions - that being content more and more tailored to the large casual player base. i don't need to rant about it though, as just mentioning it will sure enough start to make other raiders feel a little down about it. of course there are also balance issues and bugs right now, but there's really no need to get deeper on those than needed, that's what the wow forums are for :O
